attach the dress shields

It's Easy to Attach the Dress Shields

Our unique design allows you to either sew or safety pin the Dress Shields securely into place without stitches or safety-pins being seen on the outside of the garment.

Sweat Guard dress shields have a "raised seam" specifically designed to aid quick and invisible attachment. This "raised seam" runs from top to bottom, along the centre of the dress shield's backing layer.

The photo to the right shows the raised seam of the white dress shield being attached to the raised side-seam of a red top.

Beware of dress shields which use adhesive - due to the heat and moisture of the armpit, many will peel away within hours.

The photo to the left, shows a red top turned inside out, with the sleeve pointing upwards and the body section in the bottom half of the photo.

First, safety-pin the raised seam of the white dress shield to the raised side-seam of the top in 3 places. Alternatively, attach by sewing the two seams together.

Next, use the raised arm-seam of the garment to safety-pin through the backing layer of the dress shield. Repeat this at the other side of the dress shield. Alternatively tack-stitch.

In summary, when safety-pinning, only 5 pins are used for each dress shield.

3 pins are used running from the top of the dress shield to the bottom.
1 pin to attach the left side of the dress shield.
1 pin to attach the right side of the dress shield.
